Portland Cafe
Lillian leaned over the cafe counter, smoothing out her apron before flipping through the day's newspaper. She wasn't technically on break, but it was a rainy and idle morning. The cafe regulars were already tucked in, clutching their warm mugs of coffee and tea, chatting among themselves, and wasting time while rain pattered against the foggy glass windows.
Moxie sat at the nearest table, comfortably slouched in a cafe chair. She had her headphones in and seemed lost in thought as she slowly drew geometric designs with her finger on the glass.
"I'm not cleaning that," Lillian said, giving Moxie a lidded glance, but unable to keep a faint smile from her lips. She turned back to her newspaper, and then noticed something strange...
