Strange Sensation
"Half past six in the morning, Qahir’s watch told him. The sun might’ve been seen if he was looking out the window, but he was fixated on his coffee. He remembered that the humans drank it to stay awake, and though he’d long since forgotten what it meant to sleep or be tired, he felt a strange dullness in his limbs. The skin pulsed along with the hum of the neon sign above his head. He used it as a canvas to drown out the words in his brain."
At atmosphere to get me in the mood for some scenes in my novel. Enjoy!
